Specifications

Cherry Blossom SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99/sq ft installed in Fort Myers — a warm caramel wood-look floor from CPF Floors’ Quick48+ collection. Built on a 5.5mm rigid core, it pairs the grounded tone of dark naturals with genuine waterproof construction. Flooring Queen handles the full installation across Southwest Florida.

What Cherry Blossom SPC Rigid-Core Plank is built for

Southwest Florida’s climate is hard on floors: concrete slabs pull moisture upward, Gulf humidity keeps ambient levels high year-round, and sandy debris tracked in from the beach acts like sandpaper underfoot. Cherry Blossom’s rigid SPC core doesn’t swell or gap in those conditions the way wood-based flooring does, and its 20 mil wear layer shrugs off the grit.

That combination makes it a solid choice for active living areas, open-concept kitchens, and the kind of vacation rentals in Cape Coral or Bonita Springs that see heavy turnover. The attached 1.5mm HD EVA pad adds just enough cushion on hard slab without separate underlayment — which also speeds up installation in back-to-back rental turnarounds.

Installed pricing in Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

The $3.99/sq ft installed price from Flooring Queen covers the full project: old flooring removal, site cleanup, light prep of the existing subfloor surface, plank installation, baseboards, and transition strips. There are no hidden material fees layered on top.

Some situations carry upcharge costs — significant subfloor leveling when slabs have settled unevenly, stair nosing pieces, or complex layout patterns like herringbone and diagonal runs. The best starting point is our no-cost in-home measure. We’ll walk the space, identify any subfloor concerns, and hand you a written price before any work is scheduled.

How Cherry Blossom SPC Rigid-Core Plank compares

Engineered hardwood gives you a real wood surface that can be lightly sanded and refinished once or twice over its life — Cherry Blossom SPC cannot be refinished at all. If the look of genuine wood grain and the option to refresh the surface matter more than anything else, engineered hardwood earns its higher price.

Where Cherry Blossom wins is in waterproof performance. Engineered hardwood has a moisture tolerance ceiling — kitchens and bathrooms push against it, and Florida’s humidity can cause the wood veneer to cup or delaminate over time. Cherry Blossom’s rigid core is fully waterproof throughout, installation is faster with the attached EVA pad, and the installed cost runs meaningfully lower. For most Southwest Florida households on slab foundations, the practical case for SPC is strong.

Care & maintenance

SPC rigid-core plank is low-maintenance by design, but a few habits protect the wear layer over the long haul. Sweep or vacuum regularly using a hard-floor setting — avoid beater-bar attachments, which can scuff the surface over time. For wet cleaning, use a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner such as Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate or a diluted solution approved for LVP; skip steam mops entirely, as repeated high-heat steam can loosen the attached pad and compromise the locking joints. Wipe up standing water from pet bowls or appliance leaks promptly — the core is waterproof, but pooling water at seams or around baseboards can migrate to the subfloor below. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will standing water actually damage this floor, or is ‘waterproof’ more of a marketing term here?

Cherry Blossom’s SPC core is genuinely waterproof — water won’t swell or warp the plank itself. The important caveat is that prolonged pooling at seams or around the perimeter can eventually reach the subfloor underneath. Wipe up spills and floods promptly, and make sure baseboards are sealed at the wall line.

My dogs are pretty rough on floors — is this going to hold up to claws and accidents?

The 20 mil wear layer on Cherry Blossom is rated for heavy residential and general commercial traffic, which puts it well above what most pet households need. It resists claw scratching better than thinner vinyl or wood veneer, and the waterproof core means urine accidents won’t soak in and cause permanent odor or warping if you clean them up within a reasonable time.

Does Flooring Queen install this outside of Fort Myers — I’m over in Estero?

Yes — Flooring Queen installs Cherry Blossom throughout Lee and Collier counties, including Estero, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, and surrounding communities. If you’re unsure whether your address falls within our service area, just call or request an in-home measure and we’ll confirm when we schedule the visit.

Do I need to buy a separate underlayment, or is padding already part of this plank?

No separate underlayment is needed — Cherry Blossom ships with a 1.5mm HD EVA pad already attached to the back of each plank. That pad softens sound transmission to rooms below and takes a bit of the hardness off the concrete slab underfoot, all without adding a prep step to the installation.

Which rooms in my house make sense for this, and are there any spots where it shouldn’t go?

Cherry Blossom works well in living rooms, kitchens, dining areas, bathrooms, and bedrooms — essentially anywhere in a standard home. The angle-angle floating installation is designed for ground-level and above-grade spaces; it’s not the right call for below-grade subfloors with active water intrusion issues, and it isn’t designed for exterior or covered-lanai applications.

What does it actually cost to keep this floor looking good year after year?

Ongoing care costs are minimal. A pH-neutral vinyl cleaner like Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate runs a few dollars per bottle and a bottle lasts months of regular mopping. There’s no refinishing, no resealing, and no periodic professional treatment required. A microfiber mop and occasional dry sweeping are the main tools you’ll need long-term.
