Installing Happy Feet in Southwest Florida

Southwest Florida is a hard environment for flooring. Slab-on-grade construction is the norm here, which means most floors go down directly over concrete with no crawl space buffer. Concrete in SWFL stays relatively cool and can hold moisture, especially in homes that sit unoccupied with the AC off. SPC like Happy Feet handles that well — the stone plastic composite core does not swell the way wood-based products do when moisture levels shift.

In our installs across Fort Myers and the surrounding area, we’ve found Happy Feet performs consistently in living areas, kitchens, and open-plan spaces where one floor runs through multiple zones. The attached underlayment helps on bare slab where you want a little give underfoot. One thing we watch on any SPC install in SWFL: direct sun through west-facing windows can push surface temperatures high, and like all vinyl products, these planks need proper expansion gaps at walls and thresholds. We account for that on every job.
