Specifications

Arrival 10 – Fossil Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a natural oak-toned floor built on a rigid stone-plastic core. Happy Feet’s Arrival 10 collection brings 10 mm of underfoot stability and an AC4 wear layer to homes that need real durability. The warm, natural Fossil Oak coloring reads as honest wood grain without the maintenance that comes with actual hardwood.

What Arrival 10 – Fossil Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank is built for

Southwest Florida’s climate puts floors through a genuine test: slab-on-grade construction that radiates moisture, salt air within a few miles of the coast, and long stretches where seasonal homes sit closed and unconditioned. The SPC rigid core in Fossil Oak doesn’t swell or cup when humidity swings — it stays flat and locked.

That makes it a sensible choice for living rooms, kitchens, hallways, and rental properties where durability matters as much as appearance. The click-lock floating installation works directly over concrete, which saves time and money on most Fort Myers and Cape Coral slab homes.

Installed pricing in Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

At $3.99 per square foot installed, Flooring Queen’s price covers the full scope of a standard job: delivery to your home, removal of the existing floor covering, minor subfloor cleaning and prep for a floating install, the Fossil Oak planks themselves, and finishing details including baseboards and transition strips. Old flooring goes out with the crew — no separate dumpster needed.

Certain conditions add to the base price. Significant subfloor leveling, stair nosing, diagonal or herringbone layouts, and custom-cut borders are quoted separately. Call or schedule online and we’ll send a measuring tech to your home at no charge; you’ll receive a written line-item quote before any work begins.

How Arrival 10 – Fossil Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank compares

Engineered hardwood gives you a genuine wood veneer on top, which means it can be lightly sanded and refinished once or twice over its life — something Fossil Oak SPC cannot do. If authentic wood grain texture and the ability to refinish are priorities, engineered hardwood earns its higher price.

That said, Fossil Oak SPC wins on moisture tolerance. Engineered hardwood is water-resistant at best; prolonged exposure to standing water or high sub-slab humidity can cause delamination or cupping. For Southwest Florida slab homes, especially coastal properties or rentals, the rigid core’s immunity to moisture fluctuation is a practical advantage. SPC also installs faster on concrete and typically costs less to put in.

Care & maintenance

Sweep or dry-mop Fossil Oak regularly to keep sand and grit — both common in Southwest Florida homes — from working into the wear layer surface. For damp cleaning, use a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner such as Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate or a diluted dish-soap solution; wring the mop nearly dry before it touches the floor. Never use a steam mop on SPC rigid-core planks — sustained heat and pressure can weaken the locking joints over time. Avoid paste waxes, oil soaps, or abrasive scrubbers, all of which can cloud or scratch the AC4 finish. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will standing water actually damage this floor, or is it just surface-resistant?

Fossil Oak SPC has a waterproof rigid core, meaning the plank itself won’t swell, buckle, or delaminate from water exposure. That said, standing water left against baseboards or seeping under the floor at transitions can eventually affect the subfloor below — so wiping up spills and keeping perimeter seals in good shape still matters.

My dogs are rough on floors — will this wear layer hold up to nails and accidents?

The AC4 wear layer on Fossil Oak is a commercial-grade rating that handles pet nails, claws, and active foot traffic better than standard residential vinyl. Accidents clean up easily since the core is waterproof. No wear layer is scratch-proof, but AC4 is one of the more forgiving ratings available for homes with dogs or cats.

What rooms is Fossil Oak a good fit for, and are there any spots I should avoid?

Fossil Oak works well in living areas, kitchens, hallways, and bedrooms — essentially any above- or on-grade room in a typical Florida home. As a floating floor it’s not recommended for below-grade spaces like basements (rare here, but worth noting). It’s also not suited for outdoor or screened-lanai use where direct sun and rain exposure would exceed its design range.

Does this plank come with an attached underlayment pad, or do I need to buy that separately?

The product facts for Fossil Oak do not specify an attached underlayment, so plan to discuss pad options with your Flooring Queen installer before the project begins. Adding a separate underlayment can improve sound absorption and soften the feel underfoot on hard concrete slabs, which is worth considering for upper-floor installations or homes where noise transfer matters.

How do those wide planks affect the way a room looks once they’re installed?

At 7.68 inches wide and nearly 48 inches long, these are large-format planks that show fewer seams across a room, which tends to make smaller spaces read as larger and gives open floor plans a cleaner, more continuous look. Fewer end joints also mean a faster install with less material waste on standard rectangular rooms.

Does Flooring Queen install this floor in areas outside of Fort Myers?

Yes — Flooring Queen installs Arrival 10 Fossil Oak throughout Southwest Florida, including Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, and the surrounding communities.
