Specifications

White Washed Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a gray-toned, light-washed wood look from Maxxi Floors’ Aquabella Collection. The wide 9″ × 60″ plank format gives rooms an open, airy feel without the maintenance demands of real wood. It’s a practical choice for homes that need durability and a clean coastal aesthetic at the same time.

What White Washed Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank is built for

White Washed Oak was designed for the conditions Southwest Florida homeowners deal with every day. The rigid SPC core doesn’t expand or contract the way traditional vinyl does under high humidity, and it sits flat on concrete slab foundations without the gaps or buckling that plague softer floors. Salt air, sandy foot traffic from the beach, and the heat that builds up in a closed garage or entryway won’t destabilize it.

The 20 mil wear layer is thick enough to handle high-traffic living areas, active households, and the scuffs that come with real life. It also makes a strong case for rental properties or vacation homes along the Gulf Coast, where durability per dollar matters more than appearances alone.

Installed pricing in Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

Flooring Queen installs White Washed Oak at $3.99 per square foot, and that price covers the full job: delivery to your home, pulling up and removing your existing floor covering, surface prep for a typical slab, fitting the new planks, and finishing with baseboards and transition strips where needed. Nothing gets left behind — material and debris both leave with the crew.

A few situations add to the base price: significant subfloor leveling, stair nosing, diagonal or herringbone layouts, and decorative border work are all quoted separately. How White Washed Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank compares

Both White Washed Oak SPC and engineered hardwood chase the same wood-look aesthetic, but they handle Florida’s climate very differently. Engineered hardwood has a real wood veneer, which gives it a warmer, more natural surface — and it can be lightly refinished once or twice over its life. That’s a genuine advantage if you want the option to sand out deep scratches down the road.

Where SPC wins is moisture resistance. Engineered hardwood still contains wood fiber throughout, which means prolonged humidity or a slow leak under an appliance can cause swelling, warping, or delamination. SPC’s stone-composite core is completely unaffected by moisture. For Southwest Florida’s humidity, slab construction, and seasonal homes, that’s not a small difference. SPC also installs faster and costs less.

Care & maintenance

Sweep or vacuum on a hard-floor setting weekly — avoid beater-bar attachments, which can scuff the wear surface over time. For mopping, use a damp (not wet) mop with a pH-neutral cleaner such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner or a diluted solution of Simple Green; avoid anything ammonia-based or acidic, which can dull the finish. Never use a steam mop on SPC flooring — the heat and moisture can weaken the locking joints and cause planks to shift or gap at the seams. Frequently asked questions

Will standing water actually damage this floor, or is ‘waterproof’ just marketing language?

White Washed Oak has a genuine waterproof SPC core — standing water on the surface won’t damage the planks themselves. That said, water that works its way under the floor through gaps at the perimeter can still affect the subfloor beneath it. Keep baseboards sealed and wipe up pooled water promptly for best long-term results.

My dogs are rough on floors — will the wear layer hold up to claws and accidents?

The 20 mil wear layer on White Washed Oak is one of the thicker options in residential SPC flooring, and it resists everyday claw traffic from most breeds. Cleanup of accidents is straightforward since the surface doesn’t absorb liquid. Very large dogs with sharp, untrimmed nails can still leave marks on any vinyl product over time.

What’s the real difference between SPC and the regular LVP I see at big-box stores?

SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) has a rigid core made from limestone powder and PVC, which makes it stiffer and more dimensionally stable than standard LVP. Regular LVP uses a softer, more flexible core that can telegraph subfloor imperfections and show more denting under heavy furniture. White Washed Oak is SPC — it holds flat and holds up better under real-world conditions.

How long does a typical White Washed Oak installation actually take from start to finish?

A single room — say, a master bedroom or open-plan living area — is usually done in one day. A whole-home install of 1,000 to 1,500 square feet typically runs two to three days, depending on layout complexity and how much floor prep the existing slab requires. A straight rectangular layout goes faster than a home with multiple offset angles.

Does this come with an attached underlayment pad, or do I need to buy that separately?

The product facts for White Washed Oak don’t list an attached underlayment pad. Ask your Flooring Queen installer about adding a separate pad layer, which can improve sound absorption between floors and soften the feel underfoot slightly — particularly on concrete slab. Your in-home quote will cover whether it’s recommended for your specific subfloor.

We’re only in Fort Myers half the year — how does this floor handle a closed-up home through summer?

SPC’s rigid composite core is significantly more stable through temperature and humidity swings than wood-based products, making it a common choice for seasonal homes on the Gulf Coast. It won’t gap out in the dry season or buckle when the house heats up in August. Just keep your AC set to a moderate holding temperature — not off entirely — to protect everything else in the home as well.
