Specifications

Natural Linen SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a warm, neutral-toned floor from Neptune’s NATURAL collection that pairs a natural wood grain surface with a 100% waterproof rigid core. The color reads as soft, light linen: understated and versatile enough to anchor almost any interior palette. Flooring Queen carries and installs this throughout Southwest Florida.

What Natural Linen SPC Rigid-Core Plank is built for

Natural Linen is built for the realities of Florida living. The waterproof rigid core handles the humidity swings and moisture-laden air that come with coastal Southwest Florida, and it sits comfortably on concrete slab foundations without the expansion concerns that plague solid wood. The anti-microbial finish adds a layer of protection in households where heat and humidity can otherwise encourage surface growth.

The glue-down installation method makes this a particularly stable choice for high-traffic zones: kitchens, main living areas, laundry rooms, and short-term rental units where floors take real punishment. Seasonal homeowners benefit from knowing this floor won’t buckle or gap during months when the AC runs intermittently.

Installed pricing in Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

Flooring Queen’s installed price for Natural Linen is $3.99 per square foot. That covers delivery to your home, removal of your existing floor covering, standard subfloor preparation, full installation, new baseboards, transition strips where needed, and cleanup and disposal of the old material.

Certain conditions add to that base price: significant subfloor leveling beyond routine prep, stair nosing, and any intricate custom-border or decorative-pattern layouts. How Natural Linen SPC Rigid-Core Plank compares

Natural Linen and engineered hardwood occupy a similar visual space — both aim for a wood-look floor — but they behave very differently in Southwest Florida conditions. Natural Linen’s SPC core is fully waterproof; engineered hardwood is moisture-resistant but not waterproof, and repeated exposure to standing water or prolonged humidity can cause edge swelling, cupping, or delamination over time. On a concrete slab in a coastal climate, that distinction matters.

Engineered hardwood has one genuine advantage: it can be lightly sanded and refinished once or twice over its lifespan, which appeals to buyers who want a repairable floor. Natural Linen cannot be refinished. At $3.99 installed versus roughly $8.99 for engineered hardwood, the cost gap is substantial — and for rental properties or high-pet households, the SPC’s durability and cleanup ease often make more practical sense.

Care & maintenance

Sweep or vacuum regularly — use a hard-floor setting without a beater bar to avoid scuffing the wear layer. Damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner; avoid anything acidic, abrasive, or solvent-based. Do not use a steam mop: the heat and pressure can compromise the locking bond on a glue-down installation and may cause the planks to lift or warp at the seams over time. Wipe spills promptly even though the core is waterproof, since prolonged pooling at seams can eventually work its way beneath the planks. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will standing water actually damage this floor, or is the waterproof claim just marketing?

Natural Linen’s SPC core is genuinely 100% waterproof — the plank itself will not swell or warp from water exposure. The practical caveat is that prolonged pooling at seams on a glue-down floor can slowly work beneath the planks, so wiping up standing water promptly is still good practice.

My dogs are rough on floors — how well does this hold up to claws and accidents?

The 20 mil wear layer provides solid scratch resistance for most dog breeds and everyday claw traffic — it’s one of the thicker residential-grade wear layers available at this price point. Accidents clean up easily since the surface won’t absorb liquids, and the anti-microbial finish helps with odor-causing surface bacteria.

Which rooms in my house make sense for this floor, and are there any I should avoid?

Natural Linen works well in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, living areas, and bedrooms — essentially any room on a ground-level slab. Because it’s a glue-down product, it’s best suited to flat, stable subfloors; it’s not the first choice for installations over raised wood subfloors with significant flex.

Those planks look wide — how does the size affect the way a room feels?

At 7.25 inches wide and 48 inches long, each plank is considered a wide-format board, which tends to make rooms read as more open and reduces the number of visible seams. In smaller spaces like bathrooms or hallways, the large format can also mean fewer cuts and a cleaner overall layout.

Does putting in SPC vinyl help or hurt when I go to sell my home here in Southwest Florida?

SPC vinyl plank generally reads neutrally to positively with SWFL buyers — it’s recognized as practical and low-maintenance in a humid climate. It won’t command the same emotional premium as real wood on a listing, but it also won’t be a detractor; buyers here tend to prioritize waterproofing and durability over material prestige.

How many days should I block off for an installation — is this a weekend project or longer?

A single room typically takes one day; a full home in the 1,500–2,000 square foot range usually runs two to three days depending on layout complexity and subfloor condition. Glue-down installations require cure time before heavy furniture goes back, so plan for at least 24 hours before full use.
