Urban Design 20 – Paris SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99/sq ft installed in Fort Myers — a taupe-toned floor from Happy Feet’s Urban Design 20™ collection that reads like soft, warm concrete. The 100% virgin vinyl white core and 20 mil wear layer make it a workhorse underneath its understated surface. It’s a floor that works as hard as it looks quiet.
Paris is built for the realities of Southwest Florida living. The rigid SPC core doesn’t expand and contract the way softer resilient floors do in high-humidity conditions, so it stays flat through wet season swings. Glue-down installation bonds it directly to concrete slab — the substrate under most homes in the region — which adds stability and eliminates the hollow feel of floating floors.
The 20 mil wear layer holds up under beach sand tracked in from the coast, pet claws, and the heavy foot traffic that rental properties and snowbird homes see in season. If the floor gets splashed or a water bottle rolls under the fridge, the waterproof core won’t swell.

Flooring Queen installs Urban Design 20 – Paris at $3.99 per square foot, and that price covers the full job: product delivery, removal of your existing floor covering, surface preparation for a clean substrate, the glue-down installation itself, new baseboards, and transition strips at doorways. Old material gets loaded out when the crew leaves.
A few things fall outside that flat rate. Significant low spots or high spots in the slab that need leveling compound will add to the cost, as will stair nosing or any custom border work. Porcelain tile is the other go-to for Florida slab installs, and it’s genuinely competitive in wet areas like bathrooms and laundry rooms where grout lines don’t mind being damp indefinitely. Where Paris pulls ahead is comfort and cost. Porcelain is hard underfoot — hours standing in a kitchen feel different — and at $8.99/sq ft installed it’s roughly double the price of Paris. There’s also no grout to seal, re-seal, or scrub.
Where porcelain wins: heat tolerance (Paris shouldn’t sit under direct south-facing sun exposure for extended periods without window treatment), and resale perception in some buyer demographics. For living areas, hallways, and open-plan spaces, the taupe SPC plank is the more practical and budget-friendly choice.

Sweep or vacuum Paris regularly — fine sand and grit are the fastest way to dull the aluminum oxide finish, and Southwest Florida homes accumulate both quickly. Damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner like Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate or any vinyl-safe formula; avoid anything acidic, oil-based, or abrasive. Skip the steam mop entirely — sustained heat and moisture forced into seams can compromise the glue-down bond over time. Don’t use a vacuum with a motorized beater bar on the surface; a hard-floor setting or canister vac is fine. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
The SPC rigid core in Paris is genuinely waterproof — the plank itself won’t swell, warp, or delaminate from water exposure. That said, water that sits long enough to seep under the planks and compromise the glue bond is a different problem. Clean up pooled water promptly and the floor holds up well.
A 20 mil wear layer is one of the thicker options in residential SPC vinyl and handles normal pet traffic well — think claws, accidents, and food bowl drag. Cleanup is easy since the surface is non-porous. Large dogs with unclipped nails can eventually leave fine surface marks, but this wear layer resists that longer than thinner 6–12 mil alternatives.
A single room typically takes one day; a whole home usually runs two to three days depending on square footage and how much floor prep the slab needs. Glue-down installation requires cure time before heavy furniture goes back, so factor in an extra 24 hours before loading the space. Your Flooring Queen crew will confirm the exact schedule on-site.
Flooring Queen installs Urban Design 20 – Paris throughout Southwest Florida, including Cape Coral and Naples. If you’re outside those areas — Bonita Springs, Estero, Lehigh Acres — give us a call and we’ll confirm coverage for your address before you schedule a measure.
Paris works well in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and kitchens. Because it’s a glue-down plank installed at or above grade on concrete slab, it’s well-suited to the ground-floor layouts common in Southwest Florida. It isn’t the right call for below-grade spaces or wall-to-wall wet areas like shower floors.
Concrete slab is actually the ideal substrate for a glue-down SPC plank like Paris. The rigid core bonds firmly to the flat surface, and there’s no subfloor flex to stress the glue line over time. The waterproof core also handles any residual moisture vapor that migrates through slab, which is common in Florida and a known risk for wood-based flooring.
