Specifications

Takeoff SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a warm beige floor from CPF Floors’ Project 2.0 collection built for homes that need real durability without sacrificing a clean, natural look. The neutral tone works across open floor plans, hallways, and main living areas where a versatile base color earns its keep.

What Takeoff SPC Rigid-Core Plank is built for

Takeoff is sized at 9″ × 48″ on a 5.7mm rigid core, which makes it stable on the concrete slab foundations common throughout Southwest Florida. The 1.5mm HD EVA pad is already attached, so it adds a layer of cushion and helps the plank float quietly over minor surface irregularities — useful in homes where slabs shift slightly with seasonal moisture changes.

The waterproof rigid core doesn’t swell or warp in the high humidity that runs through Fort Myers from June through October. That makes Takeoff a practical choice for coastal properties, snowbird rentals, or any space where air conditioning cycles on and off for months at a time. Its heavy residential and general commercial traffic rating means it holds up under real-world foot traffic, pets, and the sandy grit tracked in from outside.

Installed pricing in Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

Flooring Queen installs Takeoff at $3.99 per square foot. That price covers delivery to your home, removal of your current flooring, standard surface preparation, the installation itself, baseboards, and transition strips — plus cleanup and disposal of the old material when the crew leaves.

Certain conditions add to that base number: significant subfloor leveling work, stair nosing, and custom layout patterns like diagonal or herringbone runs are quoted separately. The best way to get a firm number is to schedule a free in-home measurement. You’ll walk away with a written quote specific to your rooms before any commitment is made.

How Takeoff SPC Rigid-Core Plank compares

Both SPC rigid-core plank and waterproof laminate float over existing subfloors, click together without glue, and land in similar price territory — so it’s a fair comparison. The meaningful difference is the core. Takeoff’s stone-plastic composite core won’t swell if water gets underneath it; waterproof laminate resists surface moisture but can still buckle when prolonged water exposure reaches the core or edges.

Laminate tends to feel slightly softer and can mimic wood grain with a bit more texture depth, which some shoppers prefer. Takeoff wins on true waterproofing and dimensional stability in humid climates. Laminate wins on surface realism for buyers who want the closest visual match to real wood. For Southwest Florida’s slab homes and wet seasons, the SPC core is the more forgiving choice long-term.

Care & maintenance

Sweep or dry-mop Takeoff regularly to clear the sand and fine grit common in Southwest Florida homes — that grit is the primary culprit for dulling the wear layer over time. For damp cleaning, use a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner or a comparable product; avoid anything acidic, oil-based, or abrasive. Never use a steam mop on SPC flooring — the sustained heat and moisture can compromise the click joints and the attached pad beneath the planks. A microfiber flat mop is the right tool for routine wet cleaning. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will standing water actually damage this floor, or is ‘waterproof’ mostly marketing?

Takeoff has a fully waterproof rigid core, meaning the plank itself won’t swell, warp, or delaminate from water exposure. That said, ‘waterproof’ refers to the plank — not the subfloor underneath. Prolonged pooling that seeps through seams can still affect what’s below, so prompt cleanup of large spills is always smart.

My dog has claws and has wrecked every floor I’ve owned — how will this hold up?

Takeoff’s 20 mil wear layer is rated for heavy residential and general commercial traffic, which puts it at the tougher end of the vinyl category for pet households. Everyday claw scuffs, litter tracking, and accident cleanup are well within its range. Deep gouges from very large dogs are still possible, but routine pet wear shouldn’t break through this surface.

What’s the actual difference between SPC and regular LVP — should I care?

SPC (stone-plastic composite) has a rigid core made from limestone powder and PVC, while traditional LVP uses a softer, more flexible vinyl core. Takeoff is SPC, which means it’s more dimensionally stable under temperature swings and less prone to denting under furniture or heavy foot traffic. The tradeoff is that SPC is slightly less forgiving underfoot than a thick flexible LVP.

What’s the typical install timeline for a project this size — a few rooms versus a full house?

A single medium-sized room generally wraps in one day, including removal of the existing floor and installation of the new planks. Takeoff uses an angle-angle click system, which is straightforward for experienced installers and keeps jobs moving. A full home — say 1,200 to 1,500 square feet — typically runs two to three days depending on layout complexity and subfloor condition.

Does putting in vinyl plank help or hurt when it comes time to sell in this market?

In Southwest Florida’s resale market, waterproof rigid-core flooring is generally viewed as a practical upgrade by buyers — especially compared to carpet or older tile. It won’t add value the way hardwood might in colder markets, but it removes a common buyer objection. Neutral colors like Takeoff’s beige read as move-in ready, which tends to shorten time on market.

Can this go directly over my old tile, or does it have to come up first?

Takeoff can float over existing hard surfaces — including tile and vinyl — as long as the surface is flat, firmly bonded, and free of high spots. The angle-angle click system doesn’t require adhesive, which makes overlay installs feasible. Loose tiles, significant grout-line height variation, or uneven areas will need to be addressed first; your installer will check all of that during the measurement visit.
