Regency – London Fog SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99/sq ft installed in Fort Myers — a cool light-gray floor from Happy Feet’s Regency collection that reads clean and modern without feeling cold. The wide 7″ x 59″ plank format stretches rooms visually, and the painted bevel edge gives each board a defined, furniture-grade appearance. It’s a versatile neutral that works across living spaces, kitchens, and bedrooms alike.
This plank was built for the conditions Southwest Florida actually throws at floors. The Stabilicor® rigid core resists the expansion and contraction that coastal humidity and concrete slab foundations cause in softer flooring. It won’t buckle when afternoon humidity spikes or when a storm blows salt air through an open door.
The 20 mil ceramic bead wear layer handles real traffic — dogs, sandy feet tracked in from the beach, rolling chairs, and the kind of grit that finds its way into every coastal home. It’s also a practical choice for seasonal rentals or snowbird properties where the floor needs to perform without supervision.

Flooring Queen installs Regency – London Fog at $3.99 per square foot, and that price covers the full job: material delivery, removal of your old flooring, standard subfloor preparation, click-lock installation, new baseboards, and transition strips between rooms. Debris removal is included — the job site leaves clean.
Some conditions add cost. Heavy subfloor leveling beyond a quarter-inch over six feet, stair nosing, intricate layout patterns, or custom inlays are quoted separately. Contact us to schedule a no-cost in-home measurement and you’ll receive a written line-item quote before any work begins.
Shoppers comparing SPC rigid-core vinyl to engineered hardwood are usually weighing looks against practicality. Engineered hardwood has a real wood veneer that can be lightly sanded and refinished once or twice — London Fog can’t. That’s the genuine advantage on the hardwood side.
But in Southwest Florida’s humidity, SPC is the more stable choice. Engineered hardwood still contains real wood layers that can cup or gap in high-moisture environments, especially over concrete slabs without a vapor barrier. London Fog’s Stabilicor® core won’t do that. The wear layer is also thicker than most engineered hardwood aluminum-oxide finishes, and the installed price is meaningfully lower. For rooms with moisture exposure, SPC is the more practical call.
| Regency – London Fog | Engineered Hardwood | |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance | 100% waterproof core | Moisture-sensitive; can cup |
| Scratch resistance / wear layer | 20 mil ceramic bead finish | Aluminum oxide; thinner on budget options |
| Comfort underfoot | 8mm with EVA pad; firm | Slightly warmer feel; wood flex |
| Installed price | $3.99/sq ft installed | ~$8.99/sq ft installed |
| Best room | Kitchens, baths, slab installs | Bedrooms, above-grade living areas |
Sweep or vacuum with a soft-brush attachment regularly — fine sand and grit are the main enemies of the wear layer on any coastal home floor. Clean with a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner or a diluted solution of dish soap and water; wring the mop nearly dry before it touches the floor. Avoid steam mops entirely — the heat and pressure can push moisture into the locking joints and weaken the adhesion between the EVA pad and the core. Skip ammonia-based or solvent cleaners, which can haze the ceramic bead finish over time. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
Regency – London Fog is fully waterproof through the core — standing water won’t damage the plank itself. The Stabilicor® rigid core does not absorb moisture. That said, water that sits in open seams at walls or around toilets for extended periods can reach the subfloor below, so wiping up puddles promptly is still good practice.
The 20 mil wear layer on this plank offers strong resistance to pet nail scratches under normal conditions. It outperforms standard 12 mil products common in big-box stores. Cleanup is straightforward — no absorption, no odor-trapping — and the ceramic bead finish resists surface scuffs from daily dog traffic.
Regency – London Fog includes a 2mm green EVA pad pre-attached to the back of each plank. That means no separate underlayment purchase is needed for most installs. The attached pad adds a modest amount of cushion underfoot and helps reduce impact sound transmission to rooms below.
Happy Feet backs the Regency collection with a residential warranty — specific term lengths vary, so confirm current coverage with us at the time of purchase, as manufacturers occasionally update terms. Typically, SPC planks in this category carry warranties covering wear-through, manufacturing defects, and water damage under normal residential use conditions.
A single average-size room (around 200–250 sq ft) typically installs in one day. A whole-home project of 1,000–1,500 sq ft generally runs two to three days depending on layout complexity, the number of transitions, and subfloor condition. Click-lock floating installation is one of the faster methods — no adhesive cure time required.
Regency – London Fog handles seasonal vacancy well. The Stabilicor® rigid core is dimensionally stable through the temperature and humidity swings common in unoccupied Southwest Florida homes — no warping, no gapping, no cupping while the A/C runs on setback. It’s a smart choice for snowbird properties where the floor needs to sit untouched and come back looking the same.
