Prime In Oasis Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a warm beige oak-look floor from TRUCOR’s Prime collection designed to hold up where Southwest Florida’s humidity and slab foundations demand more than a pretty surface.
With a rigid stone-plastic composite core and IXPE attached pad, this plank handles the moisture-heavy air that comes with coastal living. It’s rated for above, on, and below grade, which means it’s equally at home over a concrete slab or in a laundry room that occasionally sees water. The Valinge 2G/5Gi locking system holds planks tight through seasonal temperature swings — an important trait in snowbird homes that sit unoccupied through Florida summers.
The 20 mil TRUWEAR wear layer adds meaningful scratch and scuff resistance for busy households, rentals, or any space that sees consistent foot traffic.

Flooring Queen installs Prime in Oasis Oak at $3.99 per square foot across Southwest Florida. That price covers delivery to your home, removal of your existing flooring, standard subfloor preparation, the full installation, and baseboards and transition strips where needed. When we’re done, we take the old material with us.
Certain conditions cost more: significant subfloor leveling work, stair nosing installations, decorative inlays, or custom border cuts are priced separately. Call or book a free in-home measure and we’ll put together a written quote scoped to your actual space before any work begins.
Prime in Oasis Oak gives you an oak-look floor at $3.99 per square foot installed — roughly half what engineered hardwood typically runs. The bigger practical difference in Southwest Florida is moisture. Engineered hardwood still uses real wood, and real wood moves when humidity swings or water sits on it. The SPC core here is dimensionally stable and fully waterproof, which matters on concrete slabs and in rooms near the pool.
Where engineered hardwood has the edge: authenticity. It’s real wood you can refinish once or twice over its life, and it often appraises higher with homebuyers who prefer natural materials. If moisture isn’t a concern and budget allows, hardwood is a legitimate option. If you need durability, waterproofing, and lower cost, this plank is the more practical choice.
| Prime in Oasis Oak | Engineered Hardwood | |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance | Waterproof core and surface | Surface-resistant; swells with prolonged moisture |
| Scratch resistance / wear layer | 20 mil TRUWEAR finish | Depends on species; refinishable |
| Comfort underfoot | IXPE pad attached; slightly softer | Firmer; natural wood feel |
| Installed price | $3.99/sq ft installed | ~$8.99/sq ft installed |
| Best room | Any grade; wet-area adjacent rooms | Above grade; dry living spaces only |
Keep Prime in Oasis Oak clean with a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner — brands like Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate or ZEP Hardwood and Laminate Floor Cleaner work well. Damp-mop rather than wet-mop; standing water at seams can still work into the locking joints over time. Skip steam mops entirely — the heat degrades the IXPE pad and can cause planks to buckle. For grit and sand, which are constant in Southwest Florida homes, sweep or vacuum frequently using a soft-bristle attachment rather than a rotating beater bar, which can dull the TRUWEAR finish over time. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
The SPC core is 100% waterproof, so standing water won’t swell or warp the planks themselves. That said, water that sits at seams long enough can migrate beneath the floor and affect the subfloor below. Wipe up large spills promptly, and you won’t have issues.
The 20 mil wear layer on this plank is thick enough to handle normal pet traffic, including claw scratches from medium and large dogs. It won’t show every scuff the way a thin wear layer would. Cleanup from accidents is straightforward — the surface doesn’t absorb liquid.
Prime in Oasis Oak handles seasonal vacancy well. The rigid SPC core stays dimensionally stable through Florida’s summer humidity spikes and cooler winter months without cupping or gapping. Keep your AC set to a reasonable range while you’re away — around 78–80°F — and the floor will look the same when you return.
This plank is approved for above, on, and below-grade installations, so it works throughout the house — living areas, bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms included. It’s a floating floor, so it’s not ideal for rooms with heavy fixed cabinetry being installed on top of it, but for most residential spaces it’s a solid fit.
Prime in Oasis Oak ships with IXPE foam pad already bonded to the back of each plank, so you don’t need to purchase separate underlayment. That attached pad softens the feel underfoot, reduces hollow sound when walking, and adds a modest thermal buffer between the plank and the subfloor.
Yes — this is one of the better plank types for concrete slab installs. It’s rated on-grade and below-grade, the SPC core won’t react to moisture vapor that migrates through concrete, and the floating Valinge locking system doesn’t require adhesive to the slab. It’s a natural fit for the typical SWFL home.
