Specifications

Parisian Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a natural-toned oak-look floor from CPF Floors’ Bold collection, laid in a classic herringbone pattern. The 8mm plank brings genuine dimensional presence to any room, and the warm, natural color reads as understated hardwood without the moisture risk. Flooring Queen installs it across Southwest Florida.

What Parisian Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank is built for

Southwest Florida is hard on floors. High humidity, concrete slab construction, and the salt air that drifts in from the coast all demand a floor that doesn’t expand, cup, or delaminate. Parisian Oak is built on a rigid SPC core — the structure doesn’t move the way traditional vinyl does, and the waterproof category means moisture migrating up from a slab won’t cause long-term damage.

The 22-mil wear layer and heavy residential/general commercial traffic rating make it a realistic choice for rental properties, high-traffic living areas, and seasonal homes that see a lot of sandy feet coming in off the Gulf.

Installed pricing in Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

Flooring Queen installs Parisian Oak at $3.99 per square foot, and that price covers more than just laying planks. It includes delivery to your home, removal of your existing floor covering, standard subfloor preparation, the installation itself, baseboard reinstallation, transition strips between rooms, and cleanup and haul-away once the job is done. No hidden line items for the basics.

A few things do carry an upcharge: significant subfloor leveling beyond routine prep, stair nosing, or unusually complex herringbone layouts with custom borders. Call or book online and we’ll send someone out for a free in-home measure and leave you with a written quote before any commitment.

How Parisian Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank compares

Engineered hardwood is the obvious cross-shop for a natural oak look at a similar price point. It delivers genuine wood grain on the surface — no print layer — and can be lightly refinished once or twice over its life. That’s a real advantage if the look of real wood matters to you above everything else.

Parisian Oak wins on moisture and slab compatibility. Southwest Florida homes with concrete subfloors are risky territory for engineered hardwood: humidity fluctuations cause real movement over time, and standing water is a threat. The 22-mil wear layer on the SPC plank also outperforms a typical hardwood finish coat in scratch and abrasion resistance. If you have pets, kids, or a ground-floor slab, the SPC is the more practical choice. If you have a wood subfloor and want real wood texture underfoot, engineered hardwood is worth considering.

Care & maintenance

Sweep or dust-mop Parisian Oak regularly — fine grit tracked in from outside is the main cause of wear-layer dulling over time. For wet cleaning, use a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner such as Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate or a diluted solution of dish soap; avoid anything acidic or abrasive. Never use a steam mop on SPC rigid-core planks — sustained heat and moisture pressure can stress the locking joints and attached pad over time. Skip wax or polish products as well; the wear layer doesn’t absorb them and they’ll leave a residue that attracts dirt. Frequently asked questions

Will standing water actually damage this floor, or is ‘waterproof’ just marketing language?

Parisian Oak has a fully waterproof SPC core, meaning the plank itself won’t swell, warp, or delaminate if water sits on it. That said, water that travels under the floor — through gaps at the perimeter or around pipes — can still affect the subfloor beneath, so prompt cleanup of spills and proper sealing at transitions still matters.

My dog’s nails are brutal on floors — is the wear layer on this one thick enough to hold up?

The 22-mil wear layer on Parisian Oak is rated for heavy residential and general commercial traffic, which puts it well above entry-level vinyl in scratch and abrasion resistance. It’s not impervious to deep gouges from large dogs, but routine nail scratching and pet accidents clean up without damaging the surface.

What actually makes SPC different from regular LVP, and does it matter for everyday use?

SPC (stone plastic composite) uses a rigid mineral-filled core instead of the flexible core found in traditional LVP, making it significantly more resistant to denting and dimensional change under temperature swings. Parisian Oak is SPC, which means it won’t flex over subfloor imperfections the way softer LVP can, and it holds up better in rooms that heat up in the Florida summer.

The planks are on the smaller side — how does that affect how a room looks once it’s installed?

Parisian Oak planks measure 5 inches by 27 inches, which is a compact format designed specifically for herringbone installation. Smaller planks in a herringbone layout create a tight, detailed pattern that reads as more traditional and formal — it tends to work well in dining rooms, entryways, and studies rather than open-plan great rooms where longer planks usually feel more proportional.

Which rooms in my house make the most sense for this floor, and are there any I should avoid?

Parisian Oak is a strong fit for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms — the waterproof core handles moisture-prone spaces without issue. The herringbone installation method works on any grade, including concrete slabs, making it practical throughout a single-story Florida home. It’s not typically used on stairs, where a different profile and nosing product would be needed.

We leave our house empty for four or five months every summer — will that kind of temperature cycling cause problems?

SPC rigid-core planks handle seasonal vacancy better than most flooring categories. The mineral composite core is dimensionally stable under the temperature and humidity swings a closed-up Southwest Florida home experiences in summer. Unlike solid hardwood or even some engineered options, Parisian Oak won’t gap or buckle when the AC is set to a holding temperature and the house sits unoccupied for months.
