Arrival 10 – Legacy Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a warm honey-toned oak floor built on a 10 mm rigid core. Happy Feet’s Arrival 10 collection pairs an AC4 wear layer with a click-lock float system, making it a practical choice for households that need real durability without the cost of hardwood.
Legacy Oak was built for the conditions that wear out lesser floors in Southwest Florida. Concrete slab subfloors, high ambient humidity, and the moisture that blows in from the Gulf are no match for a rigid SPC core — it won’t swell, cup, or buckle the way wood-based products can. The warm honey tone hides the fine sand that drifts in from the beach or yard.
The AC4 wear layer is rated for heavy residential use, which means it holds up in high-traffic rooms, rental properties, and seasonal homes that sit empty for months at a stretch. If you lease to snowbirds or run short-term rentals near the coast, this floor can handle the revolving-door use.

Flooring Queen installs Legacy Oak at $3.99 per square foot, and that price covers the full scope of a standard job: removing and disposing of your old floor covering, getting the slab ready for floating installation, clicking the planks into place, and finishing the edges with baseboards and transition strips.
A few things fall outside that base rate. Significant slab leveling — common in older Fort Myers homes — is quoted separately, as are stair nosing, decorative inlays, or any unusually tight or angled room layouts. Call us to schedule a free in-home measurement and we’ll put together a written quote before any work begins.
The main reason shoppers compare SPC to engineered hardwood is the look — both can mimic real oak convincingly. Engineered hardwood wins on feel: it’s warmer underfoot, and it can be lightly sanded and refinished once or twice over its life. It’s also a better fit for buyers who prioritize resale perception.
But in a Southwest Florida home on a concrete slab, SPC has a clear edge. Engineered hardwood is moisture-tolerant, not waterproof — a slow roof leak, a laundry line, or a pet accident can still cause the wood veneer to buckle or stain. Legacy Oak’s rigid core doesn’t absorb water at all. At $3.99 installed versus roughly $8.99 for engineered hardwood, the savings are real, not trivial.
| Arrival 10 – Legacy Oak | Engineered Hardwood | |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance | Fully waterproof core | Moisture-tolerant, not waterproof |
| Scratch resistance / wear layer | AC4 commercial-grade wear layer | Thin veneer; dents more easily |
| Comfort underfoot | Firm; no flex underfoot | Slightly warmer, softer feel |
| Installed price | $3.99 / sq ft installed | ~$8.99 / sq ft installed |
| Best room | Kitchens, baths, slab-on-grade | Living areas, above-grade rooms |
Sweep or vacuum Legacy Oak regularly — use a hard-floor vacuum setting rather than a beater bar, which can scuff the wear layer over time. For damp cleaning, a well-wrung microfiber mop with a pH-neutral cleaner like Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner works well; avoid anything acidic or abrasive. Never use a steam mop — sustained heat and pressurized moisture can work into the seams and compromise the locking system over time. Wipe up standing water promptly, even though the core itself is waterproof, because pooled water sitting at the edges can eventually migrate under the floor. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
The SPC core in Legacy Oak is 100% waterproof — standing water on the surface will not cause the plank itself to swell or warp. The practical caveat is the seams: water that sits long enough at the edges of planks can migrate underneath. Wipe spills promptly and you won’t have an issue.
Legacy Oak carries an AC4 wear-layer rating, which is the step below commercial-grade and above standard residential floors. That means it resists everyday pet claws, dragged food bowls, and the general chaos of a large dog reasonably well. It won’t be scratch-proof, but normal pet traffic shouldn’t leave visible damage.
A single room typically wraps in one day; a whole home usually runs two to four days depending on square footage and how many doorways, transitions, and irregularly shaped spaces are involved. The Angle/Angle click system on Legacy Oak is efficient to install, so there’s no unusual lag built into the timeline.
Happy Feet backs the Arrival 10 collection with a manufacturer’s warranty covering wear-layer performance and structural integrity under normal residential use. Specific terms — including the warranty period — are documented in the product literature; Flooring Queen can provide that paperwork before purchase so you know exactly what’s covered and for how long.
Flooring Queen installs Legacy Oak across the region — Cape Coral and Bonita Springs are both regular service areas, along with the broader Lee and Collier County communities. If you’re not sure whether your address falls within our range, just call and we’ll confirm before you schedule anything.
Legacy Oak floats on a click-lock system and doesn’t need to be glued down, so in many cases it can go over an existing single layer of vinyl or tile — provided the surface is flat and structurally sound. We assess the subfloor condition during the in-home measurement and flag anything that needs addressing before install.
