Pinnacle – Normandy SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a natural-toned floor from Happy Feet’s Pinnacle collection built to hold up where heat, humidity, and slab construction are everyday facts of life. At 11.5 mm thick with a 28 mil wear layer, it’s one of the more substantial planks in the SPC category. Flooring Queen installs it throughout Southwest Florida with professional finish work included.
Normandy’s Stabilicor® rigid core doesn’t swell or buckle when humidity climbs, which makes it well-suited to the conditions common across Southwest Florida — concrete slabs, coastal salt air, and the kind of seasonal occupancy where a home sits closed and warm for months at a stretch. The 7″ × 60″ plank format reads as wide-plank hardwood without any of hardwood’s moisture vulnerability.
The 28 mil wear layer is thick enough for households with dogs, kids, or the steady foot traffic of a rental property. Painted bevel edges and EIR embossing give the surface realistic texture. ZeroMark® stain resistance helps when sand, sunscreen, and spilled drinks are part of daily life near the Gulf.

Flooring Queen installs Pinnacle – Normandy at $3.99 per square foot, and that number covers more than just the material. It includes delivery to the job site, removal of your old flooring, the floor preparation work needed on a standard slab, the installation itself, and finishing details like baseboards and transition strips. Cleanup and debris removal are part of the job.
A few things fall outside that base price: significant subfloor leveling beyond routine prep, stair nosing, diagonal or herringbone layouts, and custom border work. Every project starts with a free in-home measurement — you’ll receive a written quote specific to your space before any work is scheduled.
Shoppers who want the look of natural wood plank often weigh SPC rigid-core vinyl against engineered hardwood. The honest trade-off comes down to water and cost. Engineered hardwood has a real wood veneer on top — it looks slightly more authentic close up, and it can sometimes be lightly refinished. But it’s not waterproof, it moves with humidity, and it’s not the right call over a concrete slab in a humid climate like Southwest Florida’s without careful moisture mitigation.
Normandy is fully waterproof through the core, dimensionally stable on slab, and installs at $3.99 per square foot versus $8.99 for engineered hardwood professionally installed. If you have pets, kids, or a seasonal home, that gap in both price and performance is hard to ignore. Engineered hardwood makes more sense where dry conditions and that real-wood feel are the priority.
| Pinnacle – Normandy | Engineered Hardwood | |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance | Waterproof rigid core | Water-resistant at best; will swell |
| Scratch resistance / wear layer | 28 mil commercial-grade wear layer | Thin veneer; susceptible to scratches |
| Comfort underfoot | 11.5 mm rigid core; firm feel | Slightly softer, warmer feel |
| Installed price | $3.99 / sq ft installed | ~$8.99 / sq ft installed |
| Best room | Any room, slab, coastal homes | Dry rooms, raised wood subfloors |
Sweep or vacuum regularly — a soft-bristle attachment works best, as beater bars can scuff the surface over time. For mopping, use a damp (not wet) mop with a pH-neutral cleaner such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner; avoid anything acidic, abrasive, or ammonia-based. Steam mops are not recommended on SPC vinyl — the sustained heat and pressure can compromise the locking joints and wear layer finish. Wipe spills promptly even though the core is waterproof, and use felt pads under furniture legs to protect ZeroMark® coating from point-load scratches. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
Pinnacle – Normandy is waterproof through the core — standing water won’t swell or warp the plank itself. That said, water that sits long enough to seep beneath the floor and reach the subfloor can still cause subfloor issues, so prompt cleanup is still good practice.
A 28 mil wear layer is well into commercial-grade territory and handles pet nails, claws, and the regular scrambling of large dogs better than thinner residential vinyls. The ZeroMark® finish also resists the staining that comes with muddy paws and the occasional accident.
Flooring Queen installs Pinnacle – Normandy throughout the region, including Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, Estero, Naples, and surrounding communities. If you’re unsure whether your address falls in the service area, call or request a free in-home measure and we’ll confirm.
Happy Feet’s Pinnacle collection carries manufacturer warranty coverage typical for commercial-grade SPC — generally covering wear-through, manufacturing defects, and finish performance. For exact warranty term lengths and conditions, ask your Flooring Queen rep for the current Happy Feet warranty documentation at time of purchase.
Pinnacle – Normandy does not list an attached underlayment in its specs, so a separate pad may be recommended depending on your subfloor and sound requirements. Your installer can advise on the right underlayment for your specific slab conditions and desired underfoot comfort.
A single room typically wraps up in one day; a full home usually takes two to four days depending on square footage, layout complexity, and the condition of the existing subfloor. Click-lock installation moves efficiently, but rooms with lots of cuts around cabinets or irregular walls add time.
We chose every vinyl product in this catalog because it stands up to the realities of Florida living: humidity, sandy substrate, busy households. Flooring Queen installs what we sell, licensed and insured. Free in-home measure: (239) 763-0770.
