Prime In Blossom Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99/sq ft installed in Fort Myers — a warm beige oak-look floor from TRUCOR’s Prime collection that suits the way Southwest Florida homes actually live.
The 7.5 mm rigid core resists the flexing and expansion that Southwest Florida’s concrete slab foundations and high humidity can cause in softer floors. The IXPE attached pad adds a buffer between the plank and the slab, which matters in coastal homes where the concrete never fully dries out.
The Valinge 2G/5Gi locking system holds planks tight in seasonal homes left vacant through summer humidity swings. The 20 mil TRUWEAR finish layer is thick enough for rental properties and active households — pet traffic, sandy feet tracked in from the beach, and frequent mopping are all in its wheelhouse.

At $3.99 per square foot installed, Flooring Queen’s price covers delivery, removal of your existing floor covering, standard subfloor preparation, the full installation, baseboards, and transition strips — plus cleanup and material haul-off when the job is done.
Some situations cost more: significant subfloor leveling beyond minor grinding or patching, stair nosing installations, diagonal or herringbone layout patterns, and custom border work all carry upcharges. The best way to get a firm number is to schedule a free in-home measure — you’ll walk away with a written quote tied to your actual square footage before any commitment is made.
Engineered hardwood gives you real wood grain and can be lightly sanded and refinished once or twice over its life, which appeals to buyers who want a wood floor that can be renewed rather than replaced. It’s also warmer underfoot in air-conditioned rooms.
Blossom Oak wins on moisture tolerance. Engineered hardwood cores can still swell or cup if water sits on them — a real concern in Southwest Florida bathrooms, laundry rooms, and homes near the coast. SPC rigid core is fully waterproof throughout the plank, not just at the surface. It also installs below grade, which engineered hardwood often cannot. The trade-off: SPC can’t be refinished when the wear layer eventually thins out.
| Prime in Blossom Oak | Engineered Hardwood | |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance | Waterproof — all grades, all rooms | Surface-resistant; core can swell |
| Scratch resistance / wear layer | 20 mil TRUWEAR; cannot refinish | Real wood; can sand and refinish 1-2× |
| Comfort underfoot | IXPE pad attached; firm with cushion | Warmer, softer natural feel |
| Installed price | $3.99/sq ft installed | ~$8.99/sq ft installed |
| Best room | Bathrooms, kitchens, below grade | Bedrooms, above-grade living areas |
Sweep or vacuum regularly using a hard-floor setting — skip the beater bar, which can scuff the finish over time. For damp mopping, use a pH-neutral cleaner such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner or a product specifically labeled safe for luxury vinyl; avoid anything acidic, oil-based, or solvent-heavy. Steam mops are not compatible with SPC planks — the sustained heat can loosen the locking joints and void the warranty. Blossom Oak’s TRUWEAR finish does not require waxing, polishing, or sealing at any point in its service life. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
Prime in Blossom Oak is waterproof through the full thickness of the plank — standing water won’t swell or warp the core. The important caveat: water that gets beneath the floor through gaps at the perimeter can sit under the planks, so perimeter caulking and proper transitions matter as much as the plank itself.
The 20 mil wear layer is thick enough to resist everyday claw scratching from most breeds without visibly wearing through. Accidents clean up without staining the core since the plank is waterproof. For very large or high-energy dogs, scatter rugs at entry points extend the finish life noticeably.
Blossom Oak includes an IXPE pad bonded to the back of each plank — no separate underlayment purchase needed. That built-in pad softens the feel underfoot on concrete slab, reduces hollow footstep sound, and provides a slight thermal buffer between the plank and a cold or damp sub-floor.
At 7 inches wide by 60 inches long, each plank reads as a full-size board rather than a strip, which tends to make smaller rooms feel more open rather than busier. Fewer seams across a room also speeds installation. In very narrow hallways, a diagonal layout can help the proportions feel less boxy.
Blossom Oak installs above, on, or below grade, making it a practical choice for every living area including bathrooms, kitchens, finished garages, and below-grade bonus rooms common in two-story Fort Myers homes. The one place to reconsider: covered outdoor patios or screened lanais with direct rain exposure, where any floating floor faces movement issues.
Ongoing costs are very low — a bottle of pH-neutral vinyl-safe cleaner runs under $15 and lasts months of regular use. There’s no refinishing, no resealing, and no professional deep-cleaning service required on any scheduled basis. The main recurring expense is the cleaner itself; everything else is just a dry mop or soft-bristle broom.
