Specifications

Pinnacle – Westminster SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a warm natural-toned floor from Happy Feet’s Pinnacle collection built for the demands of real Florida living. The 11.5 mm rigid core and 28 mil wear layer put it firmly in the performance tier without the high-end price tag. Flooring Queen installs it throughout Southwest Florida for homeowners who want durability and a clean, grounded aesthetic.

What Pinnacle – Westminster SPC Rigid-Core Plank is built for

Westminster’s Stabilicor® rigid core doesn’t flex, swell, or gap when humidity climbs — and in Southwest Florida, it always climbs. That makes it a natural fit for slab-on-grade construction, where concrete moisture migration is a year-round concern. Salt air near the coast won’t compromise the click-lock joints, and the ZeroMark® finish resists the tracked-in sand and sunscreen that come with coastal life.

It holds up equally well in snowbird homes that sit unoccupied through humid summers and in high-traffic rental properties. The 28 mil wear layer absorbs furniture scrapes and daily foot traffic without showing it.

Installed pricing in Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

Flooring Queen installs Pinnacle – Westminster at $3.99 per square foot across Southwest Florida. That price covers material delivery, removal of your old flooring, standard subfloor preparation, the installation itself, new baseboards, transition strips, and debris removal from the job site.

Certain situations carry an upcharge: significant subfloor leveling, stair nosing, herringbone or diagonal lay patterns, and custom border work. The best way to get a firm number is to schedule a free in-home measurement — Flooring Queen will walk the space with you and provide a written, room-by-room quote before any work begins.

How Pinnacle – Westminster SPC Rigid-Core Plank compares

Pinnacle – Westminster and engineered hardwood can land in the same visual territory — warm, natural tones with wood-grain texture — but they perform very differently in Florida conditions. Westminster’s SPC core is fully waterproof; engineered hardwood’s real-wood veneer and plywood substrate will still swell and warp if water sits on it. Westminster also comes in at $3.99/sq ft installed versus roughly $8.99/sq ft for engineered hardwood.

Where engineered hardwood wins: it’s real wood, so it adds perceived value at resale and can sometimes be lightly sanded and refinished. Westminster cannot be refinished. For high-humidity rooms, coastal homes, or rental properties, the SPC is the more practical choice. For a formal living room where resale value and natural feel matter most, engineered hardwood has the edge.

Care & maintenance

Sweep or vacuum weekly — use a hard-floor setting and skip the beater bar, which can scuff the finish over time. For mopping, a damp (not wet) microfiber mop with a pH-neutral cleaner like Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner or a diluted Simple Green solution keeps the ZeroMark® coating performing as intended. Avoid steam mops entirely; the sustained heat and moisture pressure can compromise the click-lock joints and void manufacturer coverage. Never use wax, oil-based polishes, or abrasive scrubbers on the aluminum oxide finish — they leave residue that dulls the surface and attracts more dirt. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will standing water actually damage this floor, or is it just water-resistant on the surface?

Pinnacle – Westminster has a fully waterproof rigid core, so standing water won’t damage the plank itself. The Stabilicor® construction prevents swelling from the inside out. That said, water that seeps under the floor through gaps at walls or transitions can still affect the subfloor below, so prompt cleanup and proper perimeter sealing still matter.

My dog has long nails and tends to skid on hard floors — will this hold up?

The 28 mil wear layer on Westminster is thick enough to handle pet nails without visible scratching under normal conditions. It’s one of the heavier wear layers available in residential SPC. The ZeroMark® finish also resists pet accidents and tracked-in dirt. Wipe up urine promptly — the floor can handle it, but dried residue builds up at seams over time.

What’s the real difference between SPC and the standard luxury vinyl planks I keep seeing at the big-box stores?

SPC — stone plastic composite — has a rigid mineral-filled core that doesn’t flex underfoot, while traditional LVP uses a softer, more pliable core. Westminster is SPC, which means it handles point loads better, stays flatter on uneven subfloors, and is less prone to denting or buckling in temperature swings. Standard LVP tends to feel softer and is generally less expensive, but it can telegraph subfloor imperfections more easily.

Does this plank come with an attached underlayment pad, or do I need to buy that separately?

The product facts for Westminster don’t list an attached underlayment pad, so you should plan to purchase a separate underlayment. A quality pad improves sound absorption and adds a slightly softer feel underfoot — especially useful over concrete slabs. Ask your Flooring Queen installer which thickness is appropriate for your specific subfloor condition before ordering.

Are there any rooms in the house where this floor isn’t a good fit?

Westminster’s click-lock floating installation makes it suitable for virtually every room in a typical Florida home — living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms. It’s not recommended for saunas or areas with sustained extreme heat. Because it floats rather than adheres, it also isn’t ideal for very large open-plan spaces without adequate expansion gaps, which your installer will account for during layout.

My whole house needs new floors — what kind of time am I looking at for an install this size?

A full home installation typically takes two to four days depending on square footage, room count, and how much furniture needs to be moved. Westminster’s Unilin Unipush click-lock system installs efficiently, which keeps labor time reasonable. Flooring Queen will give you a specific day-range estimate after measuring your home — larger jobs may be scheduled over consecutive days to minimize disruption.
