Urban Design 20 – Dubai SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a warm taupe floor built for the way Southwest Florida homes actually live. Happy Feet’s Urban Design 20™ collection brings a calm, neutral tone that reads equally at home in a coastal cottage or a modern inland build. It’s a glue-down SPC rigid-core plank, so there’s no floating system to shift underfoot.
Dubai’s taupe colorway suits open-plan living areas, primary bedrooms, and high-traffic hallways where you want a floor that doesn’t compete with the furniture. The 20 mil wear layer and 100% virgin vinyl white core make it a practical pick for Southwest Florida’s humidity swings and concrete slab foundations — both very common in this region.
Glue-down installation bonds the plank directly to the substrate, which eliminates any give or hollow sound underfoot. That also makes it a solid choice for seasonal homes that sit closed through a humid summer: the adhesive bond keeps planks stable even when the HVAC is off for weeks.

Flooring Queen installs Urban Design 20 – Dubai at $3.99 per square foot, all-in for most standard projects. That price covers delivery, removal of your old floor covering, subfloor cleanup, the installation itself, new baseboards, transition strips between rooms, and job-site cleanup once we’re done.
A few things can add to that base price: significant subfloor leveling work, stair nosing at step edges, or any custom border or inlay work. We offer a free in-home measure followed by a written quote before any work begins, so you’ll know the full number before committing.
The most direct comparison to Dubai is a floating luxury vinyl plank — similar waterproof core, similar wear layers, but a meaningfully different installation method. Glue-down SPC like Dubai is harder to replace plank-by-plank if damage occurs, but it eliminates the hollow sound and slight flex that some homeowners notice in floating floors. It also performs better in glue-down-required commercial and multi-family settings.
Floating LVP installs faster and is more forgiving of minor subfloor irregularities, which is worth considering if your concrete slab has slight variance. On price, both categories land in similar territory, though floating LVP sometimes costs a bit more installed due to underlayment. If you want maximum bond stability and zero floor movement, Dubai’s glue-down method wins.

| Comfort underfoot | Firm; no flex or bounce | Slight give; quieter footfall |
| Installed price | $3.99 / sq ft | ~$4.50 / sq ft |
| Best room | Slabs, commercial, rental | Residential, moderate subfloor variance |
Sweep or dust-mop Dubai regularly to prevent fine grit — which is everywhere in Southwest Florida — from acting as an abrasive on the aluminum oxide finish. Damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner; avoid anything acidic or solvent-based, which can dull the finish over time. Do not use steam mops on any SPC or vinyl floor: the heat and pressure can soften the adhesive bond at the seams and compromise the installation. Wipe spills promptly, and use felt pads under furniture legs to protect the wear surface from point-load scratches. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
Urban Design 20 – Dubai has a 100% vinyl waterproof core, so standing water won’t swell or warp the plank itself. The real risk is water working under the glue bond at seams over time. Wipe pooled water promptly, and make sure transitions to wet areas like bathrooms are properly sealed.
The 20 mil wear layer is one of the thicker options in residential vinyl, making Dubai a good fit for households with dogs. It resists surface scratching from everyday pet activity better than thinner 8–12 mil products. For large, heavy-breed dogs, keeping nails trimmed still helps extend the floor’s appearance over years.
Dubai does not include an attached pad — it’s a 2.5mm glue-down plank with a square edge and no pre-attached underlayment. That’s expected for glue-down SPC; the adhesive itself provides the bond and stability. The floor will feel firm underfoot, which many homeowners in slab-construction homes actually prefer.
Glue-down SPC is well-suited to seasonal homes because the adhesive bond prevents individual planks from shifting during humidity and temperature cycles. Unlike floating floors, there’s no expansion gap to manage or boards to drift. Keeping the HVAC set to a moderate humidity level while away is still a good practice, but Dubai handles the cycling better than wood-based products.
Dubai works well in living rooms, dining areas, hallways, and bedrooms on concrete slab — which describes most Fort Myers homes. Glue-down installation is grade-flexible, so it can go on or below grade. It’s not the right call for staircases without nosing pieces, and we’d discuss subfloor condition before committing it to a bathroom with heavy moisture at the base.
Glue-down installs like Dubai generally take longer than floating systems because the adhesive needs open time and the planks must be set carefully without shifting before the bond sets. A single room might be done in a day, but a whole-home project — factoring in adhesive cure time — typically runs two to three days. We’ll confirm the timeline in your written quote.
