Specifications

Foxtrot SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99/sq ft installed in Fort Myers — a honey-toned wood-look floor from Neptune’s Valor collection built to hold up where Florida living is hardest. Wide 9-inch planks and an embossed-in-register surface give it the grain depth and scale that narrow boards can’t match. If you want a warm, natural look without the upkeep of real wood, Foxtrot is a practical choice.

What Foxtrot SPC Rigid-Core Plank is built for

Fort Myers and Southwest Florida homes run on concrete slabs, and Foxtrot’s rigid SPC core was made for exactly that substrate — it won’t buckle from slab moisture the way real wood can, and the pre-attached IXPE backing cushions the hard feel underfoot. The 100% waterproof construction means spills, humidity spikes, and the occasional tracked-in water from a pool deck aren’t a problem.

The 22 mil wear layer and antimicrobial finish make it a smart pick for rentals, seasonal properties, and high-traffic households. Salt air near the coast won’t affect it, and if a snowbird property sits empty through summer, Foxtrot handles the humidity cycle without warping.

Installed pricing in Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

Flooring Queen installs Foxtrot at $3.99 per square foot, and that number covers the full job: delivery, removal of your old flooring, standard floor prep, installation, baseboards, and transition strips. Debris is removed when the crew leaves. Get a free in-home measurement and a written quote before any work begins — no estimates over the phone.

A few things can add to the final number. Significant subfloor leveling — anything beyond routine preparation — is priced separately once we’ve seen the slab. Stair nosing, custom inlay borders, or unusually complex room layouts are also quoted as add-ons. Most straightforward installs fall right at that base price.

How Foxtrot SPC Rigid-Core Plank compares

Foxtrot and engineered hardwood can look similar at a glance — both come in wide planks with a wood-grain surface. The differences show up where Florida conditions push back. Foxtrot is 100% waterproof; engineered hardwood tolerates some humidity but will swell or cup if water sits on it. Foxtrot’s SPC core also handles slab-on-grade installs without the moisture mitigation that engineered hardwood typically requires.

Where engineered hardwood wins: it’s real wood on top, so it can be lightly sanded and refinished once or twice over its life, and it tends to feel more substantial underfoot. Foxtrot can’t be refinished — when the wear layer is gone, you replace it. For most Southwest Florida homeowners dealing with humidity, pets, and slab construction, Foxtrot is the lower-risk option at a meaningfully lower installed cost.

Care & maintenance

Sweep or dry-mop Foxtrot regularly to keep sand and grit — both constants in Southwest Florida homes — from dulling the wear surface. For wet cleaning, use a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner such as Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate or a comparable product diluted to the manufacturer’s recommendation; avoid anything acidic or abrasive. Never use a steam mop on SPC flooring — the sustained heat can stress the locking joints and void the warranty. Skip wet-mop soaking as well; a lightly damp mop is all this floor needs between deeper cleanings. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will standing water actually damage this floor, or is ‘waterproof’ just a marketing term here?

Foxtrot’s SPC core is genuinely 100% waterproof — the rigid stone-plastic composite won’t swell, buckle, or delaminate from water exposure, including standing water. That said, water that seeps under the floating floor and sits on the subfloor can still cause subfloor issues over time, so address leaks at the source.

We have two large dogs — how well does this floor hold up to claws and accidents?

The 22 mil wear layer on Foxtrot is one of the thicker options in SPC flooring and handles everyday claw traffic well for most breeds. Accidents clean up without staining or odor absorption because the surface is non-porous. For very large or highly active dogs, area rugs at run zones will extend the floor’s appearance.

How many days should we plan to be out of the rooms being done?

A single room typically installs in one day; a full home usually takes two to four days depending on layout complexity and the number of transitions. Foxtrot’s Tight Lock tap-down system is straightforward for an experienced crew. We’ll confirm the schedule at the in-home measure once we’ve walked the space.

Are there rooms in the house where this floor shouldn’t go?

Foxtrot is suitable for every room in the house — bedrooms, living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms — because the core is fully waterproof. It installs as a floating floor, which works on slabs and above-grade floors alike. The one limitation: it isn’t rated for outdoor or below-grade spaces like sunken rooms with known water intrusion.

What does it actually cost to keep this floor clean year after year?

Ongoing care costs for SPC flooring are low. A bottle of pH-neutral vinyl cleaner — Bona or a similar brand runs $10–$15 — lasts months with regular use. There are no refinishing appointments, no resealing schedules, and no specialized equipment required. A good microfiber mop and consistent sweeping cover most of what this floor needs.

Can this go directly over my old tile, or does the existing floor have to come up first?

Foxtrot can often float over existing hard flooring — tile or vinyl — as long as the surface is flat, secure, and low enough that door clearances still work. Loose tiles, high grout lines, or significant height variations will need to be addressed before install. We check all of that at the measure so there are no surprises on installation day.
