Tile With Cgt In Sanctuary SPC Tile starts at $3.99/sq ft installed in Fort Myers — a warm taupe stone-look floor built for the way Southwest Florida homes actually live. TRUCOR’s Tile collection pairs rigid SPC construction with a ceragrout edge that mimics real grout lines without the porcelain weight or upkeep. The result is a 12″ x 24″ format tile that reads as genuine ceramic but floats on any level in the house.
Florida slabs sweat. Humidity creeps under doors, rain tracks in on bare feet, and seasonal homes sit closed for months at a time. The SPC core in Sanctuary is dimensionally stable — it won’t cup, buckle, or shrink through the humidity swings that plague wood and even some laminates. It installs above, on, or below grade, which matters in a region where concrete is the universal subfloor.
The 20 mil wear layer resists the sandy grit and pet traffic that come with coastal living, and the attached TRUCOR IXPE pad softens the feel underfoot without adding height that fights door clearances. Rental properties and snowbird homes benefit from the limited lifetime residential warranty — durable enough to hold up through tenant cycles without babysitting.

At $3.99/sq ft installed, Flooring Queen’s price covers the full scope: removing your existing floor, protecting surrounding surfaces during the job, standard subfloor prep, setting the planks with the I4F click system, reinstalling or replacing baseboards, and fitting the appropriate transition moldings at doorways. Old flooring gets loaded out — nothing left in your driveway.
Some situations add cost. Significant low spots or high spots in the slab require self-leveling compound, and that’s priced separately once we’ve seen the floor. Flush stair nosing, decorative borders, and herringbone or diagonal layouts also carry a modest upcharge for the extra cut time. Schedule a no-cost in-home measure and we’ll put a written scope and price in your hands before any work begins.
Sanctuary is built to look like porcelain — the ceragrout edge sells that illusion convincingly — but the two materials behave very differently once installed. Real porcelain is heavy, cold, brittle at the edges, and demands a skilled mud-bed or uncoupling-membrane install to avoid cracking on an uneven slab. At roughly $8.99/sq ft installed, the gap in labor alone is substantial.
Where porcelain wins: it’s harder, it handles extreme heat (think direct sun through glass doors), and it can be refinished with a grinder if something chips. Where Sanctuary wins: faster install, warmer underfoot, no grout sealing ever, and it floats — meaning it can come up and be replaced room by room without demo. For most Southwest Florida homes the SPC tile is the practical choice. For outdoor-adjacent or high-heat applications, consider porcelain.
| Tile with CGT in Sanctuary | Porcelain Tile | |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance | 100% waterproof SPC core | Waterproof tile; grout can absorb water |
| Scratch resistance / wear layer | 20 mil TRUWEAR™ finish | Glazed surface; harder but chips at edges |
| Comfort underfoot | Softer; IXPE pad attached | Hard and cold without area rugs |
| Installed price | $3.99/sq ft installed | ~$8.99/sq ft installed |
| Best room | Any level; kitchens, baths, living areas | High-heat zones; outdoor-adjacent rooms |
Sweep or vacuum on a hard-floor setting — no beater bar — to lift the fine sand grit that accelerates surface wear in coastal homes. Damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner or a diluted dish-soap solution; avoid anything acidic (vinegar, citrus-based sprays) because over time they can dull the TRUWEAR™ finish. Steam mops are a hard no on SPC — the heat and pressure force moisture into the locking joints and can cause swelling at the seams. Because the grout lines on this product are a ceragrout edge rather than actual grout, there is nothing to seal, ever — wipe spills and move on. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
The ceragrout edge on Sanctuary is a factory-finished vinyl detail, not actual grout — so it never needs sealing. There’s no porous material to absorb moisture, mildew, or staining agents. That’s one of the main practical advantages of SPC tile with a ceragrout profile over a traditional porcelain installation.
A 12″ x 24″ plank gives you a rectangular tile that most installers run in a brick-offset pattern, which minimizes lippage and creates a clean, open visual in smaller Florida rooms. The longer dimension also means fewer grout-line interruptions across a space, making rooms read as larger.
It depends on the condition and height of what’s already there. The I4F floating click system allows installation over most sound, flat existing surfaces — but any high spots greater than 3/16″ over 10 feet need to be addressed first. We check all of that when we measure, before you commit to anything.
Ongoing costs are minimal. A bottle of pH-neutral hard-surface cleaner lasts months of regular use, and there’s no refinishing, resealing, or professional cleaning cadence required. No grout to re-caulk, no sealant to reapply. Budget roughly $15–$25 per year in cleaning product for an average-sized home.
SPC tile with an attached IXPE pad runs noticeably warmer underfoot than ceramic or porcelain because the rigid vinyl core and foam backing don’t conduct cold the way fired clay does. In a Southwest Florida winter — where ‘cold’ usually means low 60s — most homeowners find it comfortable barefoot without area rugs.
A single bathroom usually runs one day. A whole-home install in the 1,200–1,800 sq ft range common in Fort Myers typically takes two to three days depending on subfloor condition and layout complexity. The I4F click system is efficient, but larger open-plan areas with multiple transitions add time. We confirm the schedule at measure.
