Specifications

Tile In Travertine Oyster SPC Tile starts at $3.99/sq ft installed in Fort Myers — a natural travertine-look floor built on TRUCOR’s rigid SPC core. The Travertine Oyster colorway reads as warm, sandy stone with the kind of variation you’d expect from real quarried material. It comes from TRUCOR’s TILE collection in a large-format 16″ x 32″ panel that makes smaller rooms feel more open.

What Tile In Travertine Oyster SPC Tile is built for

Southwest Florida homes sit on concrete slab foundations, face year-round humidity, and take on salt air within miles of the coast. This floor is rated for installation at, above, or below grade, so it works from a first-floor living area to a below-grade bonus room without restriction. The SPC core won’t swell, warp, or buckle when humidity swings — which matters in SWFL whether a home is occupied year-round or locked up for the summer.

The 20 mil wear layer with TRUWEAR finish holds up to sandy feet, pet traffic, and the kind of casual indoor-outdoor lifestyle common in this region. Seasonal and rental properties benefit from the limited lifetime residential warranty backing — it’s a floor that doesn’t need babying between guest stays.

Installed pricing in Fort Myers & Southwest Florida

Flooring Queen installs Tile in Travertine Oyster at $3.99 per square foot. That price covers delivery to your home, removal and disposal of your existing floor covering, standard subfloor preparation, installation of the floating floor, baseboard reinstallation, and transition strips between rooms. There are no hidden line items for those standard services.

A few situations do carry additional cost: significant subfloor leveling beyond typical prep, stair nosing, intricate herringbone or diagonal layout patterns, and custom border inlays. Call Flooring Queen to schedule a free in-home measure — you’ll receive a written quote scoped to your actual project before any commitment is made.

How Tile In Travertine Oyster SPC Tile compares

Shoppers drawn to a travertine look often weigh real porcelain tile against SPC options like this one. Porcelain delivers a harder surface and is frequently chosen for high-end kitchens and outdoor-adjacent areas, but the installed cost runs significantly higher — around $8.99/sq ft — and the installation process is messier, slower, and requires grout maintenance over time. Porcelain is also unforgiving underfoot and cold, which matters in a living room or bedroom.

This TRUCOR SPC tile installs as a floating floor with an I4F click system — no mortar, no cure time, and no grout lines to seal or re-seal. It won’t feel as hard underfoot, and the IXPE pad adds a noticeable acoustic and comfort difference. Where porcelain wins: true outdoor use, countertops, or applications where absolute hardness is required.

Care & maintenance

Keep this floor clean with a pH-neutral vinyl cleaner — brands like Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate or Simple Green Naturals work well. Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit and sand (common in SWFL homes), which can scratch the wear layer over time; avoid vacuums with a spinning beater bar. Do not use a steam mop — the high heat and moisture introduced at seams can compromise the click joints and the attached IXPE pad. Acidic or solvent-based cleaners should also be avoided, as they can dull the TRUWEAR finish. Wipe up spills promptly even though the core is waterproof, since standing liquid at the edges or transitions is best kept off the subfloor. Frequently asked questions

Does this floor need grout, and if so how often does it need to be sealed?

This TRUCOR SPC tile installs as a floating click floor with no grout lines, so there is nothing to seal or maintain on that front. The I4F locking system closes the joints without mortar or grout, which eliminates one of the biggest ongoing maintenance tasks associated with traditional travertine or porcelain tile.

Those 16 by 32 panels look big — does that cause problems during layout?

The 16″ x 32″ format is a real advantage in open-plan rooms because fewer grout lines mean a cleaner, more expansive look. Larger tiles do require a flatter subfloor to avoid lippage — noticeable height difference between adjacent tiles — so our installers check and address flatness before the floor goes down.

Can this go directly over my old tile, or does the existing floor have to come up first?

In many cases this floor can float directly over existing hard-surface flooring, but the answer depends on the height of what’s already there and how level it is. The I4F click system tolerates minor variation, but if the existing surface has significant lippage or height differential, it needs to come up first. We assess this during the in-home measure.

We leave our Fort Myers home vacant from May through October — will this floor hold up to that kind of temperature cycling?

SPC is one of the most stable flooring types for seasonal homes because the rigid stone-plastic composite core resists the expansion and contraction that affects wood-based products during humidity and temperature swings. As long as your HVAC system is set to maintain reasonable interior conditions while you’re away, this floor should come back to exactly as you left it.

What neighborhoods and towns does Flooring Queen serve for this product?

Flooring Queen installs this floor throughout Southwest Florida, including Cape Coral and Naples along with surrounding communities. If you’re outside those areas, call us — our install crews cover a wide radius across Lee and Collier counties.

How many days should I block off for a full installation — is this a weekend job or a week-long project?

A single room typically takes one day or less; a full home of 1,500–2,000 square feet generally runs two to three days for this product. The floating I4F click system moves faster than glue-down or mortar-set installations, though larger format tiles require more careful fitting at cuts and transitions. We’ll confirm a realistic schedule when we measure your space.
