Prime Xl 9 In Chambord Oak SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99/sq ft installed in Fort Myers — a natural oak-toned floor from TRUCOR’s Prime XL collection that brings genuine wood character to any room without the moisture worries. Wide 9-inch planks in Chambord Oak deliver a calm, earthy palette with the realistic grain depth TRUWEAR finish is known for. It’s a practical, good-looking floor built for real life in Southwest Florida.
The 8 mm rigid core and IXPE attached pad make Chambord Oak a strong fit for concrete slab construction — the norm across Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, and most of Lee County. It installs above, on, or below grade, so it works from a first-floor main living area down to a below-grade bonus room without special accommodation.
The waterproof core resists the humidity swings that come with coastal living and the long vacant stretches in snowbird or seasonal homes. The 20 mil wear layer shrugs off sandy foot traffic, and the locked floating system means no glue to fail when temperatures swing between air-conditioned winters and sweltering summers.

Flooring Queen installs Chambord Oak at $3.99 per square foot, and that price covers quite a bit: delivery to your Fort Myers-area home, removal of your old flooring, standard subfloor preparation, the full plank installation, baseboard reinstallation, transition moldings at doorways, and cleanup when we leave.
A few things fall outside that base figure — significant subfloor leveling work, stair nosing installations, and layouts involving custom borders or diagonal patterns carry additional labor. Contact us for a free in-home measure; we’ll walk the space, note anything that affects scope, and hand you a written quote before any work begins.
Chambord Oak gives you a convincing wood look at a meaningfully lower installed price than engineered hardwood, and it adds something engineered wood can’t genuinely offer: a fully waterproof core. In coastal Southwest Florida — where humidity, the occasional flooding event, and leaky appliances are everyday concerns — that difference matters.
Engineered hardwood has real wood on the surface, which means it can be lightly sanded and refinished once or twice — something you can’t do with SPC. It also tends to feel slightly warmer underfoot to some homeowners. But engineered hardwood is vulnerable to standing water, costs significantly more installed, and doesn’t tolerate below-grade installations well. For most SWFL homes on slab, Chambord Oak is the more practical choice.
| Prime XL 9 in Chambord Oak | Engineered Hardwood | |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance | Fully waterproof core | Surface-resistant only; will swell |
| Scratch resistance / wear layer | 20 mil commercial-grade wear layer | Varies; thin veneer can scratch |
| Comfort underfoot | IXPE pad attached; firm but cushioned | Wood feel; no pad, slightly warmer |
| Installed price | $3.99/sq ft installed | ~$8.99/sq ft installed |
| Best room | Any grade, high-moisture rooms | Above grade, dry living spaces |
Sweep or vacuum Chambord Oak regularly to keep sand and grit — the silent enemy of any wear layer — from grinding into the surface. For damp mopping, use a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner such as Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate or Rejuvenate Floor Cleaner; wring the mop nearly dry before it touches the floor. Avoid steam mops entirely — sustained heat and pressure can compromise the locking joints and IXPE pad over time. Never use abrasive scrubbers, wax-based products, or anything with bleach or ammonia, as these can dull the TRUWEAR finish and void your warranty. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
The Chambord Oak core is fully waterproof, so standing water on the surface won’t swell or warp the plank itself. That said, water that sits long enough to seep under the floor at seams or edges can cause issues with the subfloor below — so prompt cleanup still matters.
A 20 mil wear layer is a commercial-grade rating, which means it’s one of the thicker options available in residential SPC flooring and resists normal pet scratching well. Dog nails won’t cut through it under typical conditions. Cleanup is straightforward — the waterproof surface wipes clean without staining.

Chambord Oak is rated for above, on, and below grade, making it suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and even below-grade bonus rooms or basements. It’s a floating installation, so it’s not ideal for rooms that require glue-down floors, such as some commercial or high-traffic entry applications.
The 9″ x 72″ plank format is genuinely large for a vinyl plank, and it makes a noticeable visual difference: fewer seams, more continuous wood grain, and a more open feel in larger rooms. In tighter spaces it can still work well, though layout planning matters more to minimize short cuts at walls.
A whole-home project around 1,400 square feet typically runs two to three days with Flooring Queen’s crew, assuming straightforward layout and no significant subfloor issues. The angle-tap floating system installs efficiently, but factors like furniture moving, transition molding count, and any prep work can shift that estimate — we’ll nail down the timeline once we’ve measured the space.
