Specifications

Kona SPC Rigid-Core Plank is a warm walnut-look floor from Neptune’s Allusive collection built to hold up in the humidity and heat of Southwest Florida. At 9.13 inches wide and over five feet long, each plank reads as genuine wood without any of hardwood’s moisture vulnerabilities. It’s a practical choice for homeowners who want the look without the upkeep.

What Kona SPC Rigid-Core Plank is built for

Kona has a waterproof SPC plank core and a walnut wood look. It can be considered for kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms after the site is assessed, but seams and edges in an installed floor are not floodproof.

Kona has a walnut wood look and pre-attached backing. For rentals or seasonal homes, ask our crew to review site conditions and the manufacturer’s care guidance before installation.

How Kona SPC Rigid-Core Plank compares

Shoppers drawn to Kona’s walnut look may also consider engineered hardwood. Hardwood has a real wood surface, while Kona is an SPC vinyl plank. Confirm any refinishing allowance for a specific hardwood product with its manufacturer.

Kona offers a waterproof SPC plank material and a walnut wood look. Engineered hardwood offers a real wood surface. Moisture conditions and maintenance preferences should guide the choice.

Care & maintenance

Sweep or dust-mop Kona regularly to keep grit from grinding against the wear surface. That’s especially important in Florida homes where sand tracks in year-round. Damp-mop with a pH-neutral vinyl floor cleaner such as Bona Stone, Tile & Laminate or a manufacturer-approved vinyl solution; avoid anything acidic, oil-based, or abrasive. Skip steam mops entirely, sustained heat and pressurized moisture can compromise the locking joints and pre-attached backing over time. A walk-off mat at entry doors cuts cleaning frequency noticeably and extends the life of the wear layer. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will standing water actually damage this floor, or just the surface?

Kona’s SPC plank core is waterproof, but the installed floor has seams and edges. Pooled water can get below it and damage the subfloor. Clean up spills promptly and address leaks.

My dogs are rough on floors, is the wear layer thick enough to hold up?

For homes with dogs, sweep tracked-in grit and wipe up accidents promptly, especially near plank seams. Ask for the current manufacturer wear and scratch-care guidance; pet activity can still mark the surface.

Does Flooring Queen install this outside of Fort Myers, or just in the city?

Flooring Queen installs Kona throughout Southwest Florida, including Cape Coral, Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, and surrounding communities. If you’re unsure whether your address falls within the service area, call or use the online form. We’ll confirm quickly and schedule your in-home measure.

We’re only here October through April, how does this floor handle being closed up all summer?

For a seasonal home, keep indoor conditions within the manufacturer’s recommended range and ask our crew to assess the slab before installation. A waterproof plank core does not eliminate moisture or movement risks at the installed seams and subfloor.

Those planks look wide, will they fit well in a smaller room, or do they work better in open spaces?

At 9.13 inches wide and just over 60 inches long, each plank is on the larger end of standard residential sizing. Wide planks make small rooms feel more open by reducing the number of seams, but they can look proportionally heavy in very narrow spaces like a single-wall galley. In most Florida open-plan layouts, the size reads well.

What does the warranty actually cover, and for how long?

Ask Flooring Queen for the current Neptune manufacturer warranty document for Kona before purchase. Coverage, duration, exclusions, and care requirements depend on that document.
