Cyrus Bembridge Luxury Vinyl Planks SPC Rigid-Core Plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Fort Myers — a walnut-toned floor from MSI Surfaces’ Cyrus collection built to look like real wood without the upkeep. Bembridge’s warm brown grain reads as genuine hardwood in any room. Flooring Queen carries and installs it throughout Southwest Florida.
Southwest Florida is hard on floors. Humidity sits high year-round, most homes rest on concrete slabs, and salt air works into materials over time. Bembridge’s rigid SPC core doesn’t flex, swell, or gap the way traditional LVP can under those conditions — making it a dependable choice for slab-on-grade installs without worry.
The 12-mil wear layer holds up to everyday traffic, which matters in rental properties and seasonal homes that see bursts of heavy use between empty months. It’s practical for living rooms, kitchens, hallways, and anywhere you’d otherwise hesitate to put real wood.
| Thickness | 5MM |

| Wear Layer | 12MIL |
| Warranty | Lifetime Limited Residential; 10-Year Limited Light Commercial |
Flooring Queen installs Cyrus Bembridge at $3.99 per square foot, and that number covers the full job: delivery to your home, removal of your existing floor covering, standard subfloor preparation, the plank installation itself, new baseboards, transition strips between rooms, and cleanup and material removal when we’re done.
A few things fall outside that base price — significant subfloor leveling work, stair nosing, diagonal or herringbone layouts, and custom border details all carry an upcharge. Not sure what your project needs? We offer a free in-home measurement and provide a written quote before any work begins.
Shoppers who want a wood look often weigh SPC rigid-core vinyl against engineered hardwood. Engineered hardwood is real wood — it has a genuine veneer that can be lightly sanded and refinished, and it may add more perceived value in a resale context. If that’s what drives your decision, engineered wood has a real edge.
Bembridge wins on moisture tolerance. Engineered hardwood can warp or cup in high-humidity spaces and should never be installed below grade or on a concrete slab without a vapor barrier. Bembridge’s waterproof SPC core makes it a safer fit for Southwest Florida conditions — slab foundations, open-plan kitchens, and coastal homes where moisture pressure is constant. It also installs at a lower price point.
| Cyrus Bembridge Luxury Vinyl Planks | Engineered Hardwood | |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance | Waterproof rigid core | Moisture-sensitive; can cup or warp |
| Scratch resistance / wear layer | 12-mil wear layer | Thin wood veneer; can scratch |
| Comfort underfoot | Firm; rigid core | Slightly softer; real wood feel |
| Installed price | $3.99/sq ft installed | ~$8.99/sq ft installed |
| Best room | Kitchens, baths, slabs | Dry living areas, upper floors |
Sweep or vacuum Bembridge regularly to keep sand and grit — both common in Southwest Florida homes — from working into the wear layer over time. Avoid vacuums with a spinning beater bar set to the hardwood position; a hard-floor setting or a soft-bristle attachment is safer. For washing, use a pH-neutral cleaner formulated for luxury vinyl, such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner. Skip steam mops entirely — sustained heat and pressurized steam can compromise the plank’s adhesive layers and void the warranty. Wipe up standing water promptly, even though the core is waterproof, to protect grout lines and adjoining materials. For technical guidance, see the World Floor Covering Association vinyl flooring guide.
Bembridge’s SPC core is genuinely waterproof — standing water won’t swell or warp the plank itself. That said, water that sits at seams long enough can work toward the subfloor underneath. Wipe up pooled water promptly, and the floor will hold up without issue in kitchens, laundry rooms, and bathrooms.
The 12-mil wear layer on Bembridge handles typical pet traffic well — claws, dirt tracked in from outside, and the occasional accident. Clean up pet messes quickly since urine can seep into seams over time. The walnut-toned surface also hides everyday dirt and hair better than lighter floors.
SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) has a rigid mineral-composite core, while standard LVP uses a flexible plastic base. Bembridge is SPC, which means it won’t flex or indent under heavy furniture and handles temperature swings without gapping — both real advantages in Southwest Florida’s climate and on concrete slab foundations.
Vinyl plank won’t appraise as high as hardwood on paper, but in the Southwest Florida market — where buyers expect moisture-resistant, low-maintenance flooring — a fresh, well-installed SPC floor is rarely a liability. Worn or damaged hardwood in a humid climate is usually a bigger turn-off to buyers than quality vinyl.
The product facts for Bembridge don’t specify an attached pad, so you should confirm with Flooring Queen before finalizing your order. If no pad is attached, a separate underlayment can be added during installation to improve sound absorption and add a small amount of cushion underfoot — your estimator can advise on options.
Bembridge works well in living areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms — essentially any room in a typical Southwest Florida home. It’s not recommended for saunas or spaces with sustained direct-heat sources. Because it installs as a floating floor, very large open areas may need extra expansion planning; your installer will flag that during the measure.
